Acceptable Use Policy

Version 1.0, effective September 5, 2026

What a store on Katching may not sell and may not do, what a merchant agrees to, how a report is handled, and what happens when the rules are broken.

Who this applies to

This policy applies to every store on Katching and to every account that opens one, on both ways of taking payments. It is part of the terms of service.

What a store may not sell

Katching refuses the activities that its payment providers refuse. A store may not sell or promote anything on Stripe's list of restricted businesses or anything prohibited by PayPal's acceptable use policy.

Those two lists are maintained by the payment providers and they change. The version that applies is the one on their site on the day. Katching does not copy them here, so that what you read is never out of date.

Beyond those lists, a store may not sell or promote anything illegal where it sells, anything that infringes the rights of someone else, anything that deceives a customer about what it is, what it costs or when it arrives, and anything that puts a customer in danger.

What a merchant agrees to

  • Sell only what you have the right to sell, and only where you have the right to sell it.
  • Describe what you sell truthfully: what it is, what it costs, what shipping costs, and when it arrives.
  • Deliver what you sell, in the time you announced, and tell your customer when you cannot.
  • Publish a refund policy on your store, and honor it.
  • Answer your customers.
  • Keep the access to your store and the keys of your payment account to yourself.
  • Give accurate information about yourself and your company, and keep it up to date.

What you may not do to the platform

No attempt to reach the data of another store or of another account. No scanning and no load that degrades the service for anyone else. No reselling of the platform as if it were yours. No working around a limit, a suspension or a payment.

Security research is welcome, under the rules of the vulnerability disclosure policy.

What happens when this policy is broken

Katching can suspend a store, close it, or end Katching Payments for it. Where the nature of the breach allows it, you are told what to correct and given time to correct it; where it does not, the action is immediate. The reasons and the procedure are in the terms of service.

When Katching finds fraud on a store, it reports it to its payment processor, as its agreement with that processor requires. Where the law requires a report to an authority, Katching makes it.

Reporting a store

Write to hello@katching.ai with the address of the store and what you saw. A claim that a store infringes your rights follows the notice and takedown procedure in the terms of service.
