Activation that already knows you, and tells you where you are
Activation moved into your admin last week. This week it stops asking you for things we already have, it works for founders who do not live in the United States, and it shows you the road instead of a percentage.
It arrives filled in
Your email, your store address, your website and, when your Katching billing record carries one, your phone are already in the fields when you get there. If your store has a vertical, the business category and the description of what you sell arrive written, and you correct them rather than compose them. Nothing is guessed: a field we cannot fill honestly is left empty for you.
If you do not live in the United States
The address of the person signing now asks for a country, and it takes the one you live in. The state, the region and the postal code take the shape of that country instead of an American one.
If you do not have a Social Security number
There is a box that says so. It opens a field for your ITIN, or for the tax number of the country where you live, and it tells you plainly that an identity document will be asked for afterward, on the same page, in our words.
Your category, out of the whole list
The category of your business is searched among the 288 we support, not picked from a drawer of ten. The codes our processor will not accept are not offered at all, so a category cannot be chosen and then refused later. If none of them is yours, a link says so and tells you what happens next.
A road, not a percentage
Beside the form, six named milestones show where you are and what is left: Business, You, Owners, Bank, Terms, Review. A small scene next to them follows the same story, and one sentence says what this screen is for. On a phone, the road moves above the form, and it never sits below it.
About your payouts
Before your account exists we do not quote a rate we cannot yet read, so the review screen says what is true: payouts start once your first sale clears, a reserve is held on each payment for 90 days from that payment, and you will see the exact rate the moment your account opens. Once it is open, that same sentence carries your real reserve rate and the date it is released, read from the same records the payout job uses.
