# Payouts every business day, and terms that say so

Katching Payments used to move your money once a week. It now moves it every
business day. Nothing about the reserve changes, and nothing is asked of you.

**Every business day, not once a week**

Whatever is available on your account, minus the reserve still held, leaves on
every business day. There is no fixed day of the week to wait for and no window
to fall outside of. A business day is a day the American banks move money: not a
Saturday, not a Sunday, not a federal holiday. The list of those holidays is
kept in our code with the date we last read it and the government page we read
it from, so it cannot quietly go stale.

**Three business days, and why they are ours**

A sale does not become payable the second the card goes through. It waits three
business days, and then it leaves on the next payout. That delay is ours: we set
it on your account when it is created, because we carry the cost of a dispute or
a fraudulent order, and those three days are the time we have to see one before
the money moves. We now say the delay plainly instead of letting you count.

A handful of countries require a longer minimum than ours. If yours is one of
them, your account keeps that longer delay, and every screen reads the number
your account actually carries rather than the one we asked for.

**A reserve changes the amount, not the day**

A store at fifteen percent is paid on the same business day as a store at five
percent. What differs is how much leaves. Version 1.2 of the Katching Payments
Terms removes the sentence that said the reserve made your payout schedule
longer, because on our rail it does not. Nothing else in those terms changes,
and there is nothing for you to accept again.

**Where you see it**

The activation screens and the payouts line of your dashboard read the same
numbers the payout job uses. They are composed from those numbers rather than
written by hand, so the sentence you read cannot fall behind the rail.
